I recently moved into a new apartment and, unfortunately, broke my flimsy bed frame in the process. To be fair, I’ve skimped on bed frames in the past and always opted for the cheapest option available.
Instead of buying yet another lousy frame made from engineered wood, I needed something solid that would actually stand the test of time.
After looking online, one name kept popping up — Thuma. Their frames looked sleek, sturdy, and super high quality. But there was only one problem… the price.
Was I really about to shell out over a thousand bucks for a bed frame?
I was having trouble justifying the price and noticed that Thuma had just released another bed frame option called the Essential Bed. It was still above what I wanted to spend, but I couldn’t find another company with the same positive reviews, high-quality materials, and minimalist designs. Plus, they offer a lifetime warranty, which gave me more peace of mind in getting one. So I bit the bullet, ordered the Essential Bed, and patiently waited for my dream bed to arrive.
Once I received my new bed frame, I was able to put it together in under 10 minutes by myself. The Japanese joinery makes assembly super easy with no pesky tools involved. The legs simply slide into place, forming a sturdy foundation for quiet sleep. This also means that when I have to move again, transporting my beloved bed frame will be a piece of cake.
I love the look and feel of the recycled rubberwood, which adds a sense of luxury to my bedroom. The rounded corners of the frame mean no more midnight shin bumps, and the clean lines provide a modern aesthetic.
One of Thuma’s big selling points is how quiet and sturdy their bed frames are. Capable of supporting over 1,500 lbs, I’ll never have to worry about any structural issues.. Of course, I had to test it out — and the Essential Bed is completely silent.
Another aspect I love about the Essential Bed is how every frame is made from upcycled wood. They even ship the bed in minimal, recycled cardboard packaging, cutting down on waste. It’s great to know that my bed works for me and the planet!
The Essential Bed not only provides quiet, comfortable sleep, but also elevates my bedroom overall. It may sound trivial, but I think my sleep quality has actually improved since upgrading. With no more creaks, wobbly legs, or cheap materials, I look forward to getting in bed every night.
After sleeping on the Essential Bed for a few weeks, I can safely say it’s worth every penny. Plus, I know I won’t need to replace it ever, so the bed frame actually pay for itself over the years.
I honestly wish I had upgraded to a Thuma bed frame earlier. Thuma is definitely worth the price and hype, and my only problem now is I want to buy their nightstand and dresser to match!
