Euphoria Season II’s Makeup Looks – Less Glitter, More Color

Euphoria Season II’s Makeup Looks – Less Glitter, More Color

Euphoria Sesaon II dictates where I’m shopping and how I’m doing my makeup for the next nine months.

We all ran to I Am Gia when we saw Maddy, played by the iconic Alexa Demie, pop off on beau Nate Jacobs and his family during the carnival. Despite being shamed for being “dressed like a hooker,” the outfit sold out and was replicated in thousands of Halloween costumes.

The bright-colored makeup and racy outfits changed the way we dressed. You can see the shift in how women now dress due to the show. People are wearing less clothing and more makeup out.

Gems around the eyes and highlighting the brow bone, chunky glitter everywhere. Dramatic, winged eyeliner a la Maddy. Track shorts and tank tops to impersonate Rue. Small braids in the front of your hair to inhabit full Cassie.

Stars like Jacob Elordi, Zendaya, and Barbie Ferreira are constantly best dressed on and offscreen. Last season’s Euphoria looks are a bit different from those in season two. We shift to a minimalist, muted glam with subtle pops of color.

The cast goes through a lot this season, so their makeup is all about understated pastels with a sprinkle of rhinestones. There’s a lot more playing around with eyeliner than smearing glitter everywhere.

So if you’re missing Euphoria Sundays and want to unleash your inner MUA, here are some Ulta products that will help you get that Season II look.

We really feel for poor Maddy in season two. Her abusive boyfriend leaves her for her best friend. She probably should’ve taken a few more swings at Cassie. And the craziness of it all is that she still was slaying her makeup look every damn day. Proof she’s stronger than me already.

Doniella Davy, Euphoria makeup artist, really splashed out with dramatic eyeliner moments for Alexa Demie this season. Personally, I’m obsessed with this double liner moment, where the top and bottom are winged out. It looks fierce.

The best eyeliner ever for precision like this is the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner. It’s felt-tipped, so you can get that crisp, sharp line that Maddy always has. If you have a shaky hand like me, use some tape to guide your lines.

Sydney Sweeney was nominated for an EMMY award for her performance in Euphoria Season II, so well deserved. She poured her heart and soul into each episode and thoroughly convinced me Cassie actually may have lost her mind.

Doniella Davy always motivates each individual character’s makeup madness. It reveals their mental states and plays into their moods, even contributing to overall character arcs. Each and every color and gem placement is intentional.

This subtle glam look will fuel a fun night out. Swap liner and eyeshadow for a gem wing moment. Order up some lash glue and gems from Amazon and set them above your eyelid crease until you have a dazzling wing.

As you probably know, Cassie goes berserk and tries to copy Maddy’s style to grab Nate’s short-spanned attention. It’s a desperate plea for attention that, honestly, you pity her for. Any girl willing to transform herself that much just for a guy is clearly going through it.

But the makeup looks we gain from all this tragedy is the silver lining. This metallic blue look emboldened by outlines of black eyeliner is what I live for. It’s Euphoria – classic, yet edgy.

r.e.m. beauty by ariana grande’s Midnight Shadows Lustrous Liquid Eyeshadow in the shade milky way will help you nail this look. It’s a beautiful teal that is easy to apply and adds a necessary gleam to your look.

Kat goes through a ton of turbulence this season. Obviously, she’s struggling with self-love and has a lot of gloom in her life. Her makeup, however, is bright and whimsical. It’s fairy-esque with pops of color in the darkness.

There isn’t a lot of glitter for Kat, but we love how they used bright colors for her nonetheless. The Morphe x Lucky Charms Palette is perfect to catch the Kat look due to whimsical colors that blend seamlessly.

Jules Vaughn, played by the ever-talented Hunter Schafer, is a multi-layered character. We adore peeling them back to find her sweet demeanor. I so respect Hunter for writing a few of Euphoria’s most intriguing episodes.

Donni Davy gave Jules’ lower lash line a lot of love this season. She introduced us to eyeshadow and gem looks that focus solely on your lower lashes. It’s a captivating, dynamic way to play with makeup.

To recreate looks like this, try e.l.f. No Budge Eyeshadow Sticks. They make applying eyeshadow super simple and quick, especially in the delicate under-eye area.

We see a lot more of Maude Apatow’s Lexi this season. In the words of The Killers, she’s coming out of her cage and she’s doing just fine. With her tell-all play and budding relationship with Fez, we can’t seem to get enough.

So why not try out her bold red lip? It’s Lexi’s world and we’re living in it. Juvia’s Place Cherry Velvety Matte Lipstick is highly-rated and guaranteed to give you that flaming hot red lip you’ve only dreamt of.

With HBO’s Season III coming in 2024, we’ll truly miss Euphoria for a while. In the meantime, I’m going to binge-watch the first two seasons to get my fill of Jacob Elordi.

These makeup looks are fun twists on classics to adopt and bring out The Euphoric in everyone – I’m sprinting to Ulta as we speak…Rue style.
