2020 was been a crazy year. With the stay-at-home orders and all the stress that came with it, I found myself stuck in a pretty unhealthy routine of getting up late, snacking all day, and not exercising enough. It has gotten so out of hand, and now the holidays are over and the new year is here, I can’t keep allowing myself to overindulge.
If I want to feel better in 2021, I need to focus on my health and start eating better. But I didn’t know where to begin. In the past, I’ve made countless attempts at fad diets and meal prepping, but diets are tough to maintain, and meal prepping is too inconvenient for me. I needed to find something realistic and easy.
I decided to look into a few healthy meal delivery services, and that’s when I came across Splendid Spoon.
Splendid Spoon sends plant-based soups, smoothies, grain bowls, and noodle bowls right to your door. The thing that stands out about Splendid Spoon is how convenient it is. The smoothies come ready to drink and you simply pop the bowls in the microwave. No preparation needed.
All their meals are vegan, gluten-free, GMO-free, and high in protein, not to mention the tons of superfoods they contain, so Splendid Spoon is definitely healthy. But I was worried about how they would taste and if they’d be filling. Since I can pause my subscription or skip a delivery at any time, I decided to give Splendid Spoon a shot.
I chose one of their plans and made selections from their weekly menu of 50+ meals that include a variety of cuisines and recipes. I can choose between weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly deliveries.
When my first shipment arrived, I was super excited to try it out. Everything arrives chilled in sealed packs and ready to store in the fridge. They also keep in the freezer for up to a month.
First up, I had the Blueberry Coconut Cinnamon Acai Smoothie for breakfast, and not only was it delicious, but it kept me full straight through to lunchtime. Plus, it contains Acai which strengthens immunity and boosts energy and blueberries which contain antioxidants that combat free radicals, as well as cinnamon which lowers blood pressure and banishes infections.
My favorite meal of the week was the Aloo Gobi Quinoa Bowl for lunch. It includes so many powerful superfoods – Turmeric which is a natural anti-inflammatory; peas which satisfy hunger and stabilize blood sugar; and button mushrooms which strengthen your bones with Vitamin D.
The meals come in pre-portioned servings so you can be sure that you’re eating the right amount and there’s never any food waste.
Splendid Spoon‘s ingredient lists and the vast array of benefits never cease to amaze me. It costs about $9 per meal and for the amount of nutrients every meal contains, that’s an amazing deal.
I’m a few weeks into my Splendid Spoon plan and I feel amazing. I’ve even lost a few pounds, what a bonus! I never saw myself as a smoothie lover, but Splendid Spoon’s meals are so yummy and nutritious.
Now that my diet is solidly on track, I’ve been getting up earlier, going out for daily walks, and I have so much more energy. I’m thrilled that I can still indulge a little at the weekends here and there . Because Splendid Spoon will be there for me after.
If you’re looking to get ahead of an indulgent holiday season, I’d highly recommend Splendid Spoon.
