For a while coconut oil has been touted around as a magical do all, fix all. Have acne? Coconut oil. Hair growth? Coconut oil? A failing marriage? Coconut oil. But there are a host of other super-oils out there. From flaxseed oil, grapeseed oil, sunflower oil, macadamia oil and even olive oil, these oils have uses that go far beyond cooking. They can do everything from get rid of acne scars to helping with hair growth. The newest “it” oil of the season? Avocado oil.

Avocados are surprisingly packed with a lot of oh-so-good for you nutrients. The fruit (yes, that’s right, avocado is a fruit) is filled with monounsaturated fatty acids (which reduces belly fats), vitamin E, and can even be used to treat psoriasis.

But head’s up: avocado oil is not cheap. And for good reason. It takes 15 to 20 avocados just to make one bottle of the stuff.

Grape Seed Oil: This oil is the key to a perfect complexion. It’s packed with antioxidants and is packed with Vitamin C, which brightens your skin, and can even help regulate natural oil production.

Olive Oil: This common oil can be used as a delicate shaving lubricant, a leather cleaner, and for removing ear wax! What makes olive oil even better is the fact that’s its found in practically every grocery store and can be quite affordable compared to the prices of the other oils mentioned in this article.

Macadamia Nut Oil: Next time you’ve sat in the sun for too long, mix 1/4 cup of macadamia nut oil with 3-4 drops of peppermint essential oil and rub it on the affected areas to ease the pain of your sunburn and sped up the healing process.

So go out to your nearest grocery store and stock up! These oils will not only keep you feeling good, but looking good too.
