It’s weird to even imagine someone attacking Zendaya in any way, shape, or form. The former Disney Channel star has maintained a stellar reputation over the years. She’s avoided scandals at every step of the way. And now she’s engaged to her Spider-Man co-star, Tom Holland, in what’s been one of the most private relationships in Hollywood!
Buhhhtt, it’s become clear that one of Zendaya’s family members might not be her biggest fan. Zendaya’s half-sister, Latonja Coleman (who’s 20+ years older than Z) recently shared some judgy thoughts about Zendaya and Tom’s relationship. She also whined about how Zendaya let her down. Yikes!
Zendaya’s Half-Sister Has… Thoughts About Her
Sadly, no matter who you are in Hollywood, people will have their own thoughts about you. And when the “hate” comes from a family member, it really burns. Latonja blabbed all about Zendaya’s relationship with Tom.
According to The U.S. Sun, Latonja said, “They’ve been together for quite some time and I actually met him on Thanksgiving of 2018. He’s really, really cool. He’s down to earth and my family likes him. They just look like an odd couple because he’s so short and she’s so tall. But other than that, I think he’s the one for her.”
She went on to question if she’ll even be invited to their wedding… or completely shunned. The criticism didn’t stop there, though. Latonja later went on to dish about how rarely Zendaya pays time with her family, adding, “I saw Zendaya at my grandmother’s funeral last month. I hadn’t seen her since Thanksgiving 2018 when we all went to her house.”
Latonja went on with her vent sesh saying, “When I tried to talk to her, she just gave me a one-arm hug. It felt like I was just a fan. Zendaya is very active with my other sister and brother’s kids, but my grandkids don’t even know her. They think she’s just from the Disney Channel.”
For what it’s worth, Latonja did say that she doesn’t blame Zendaya because, “My dad favored the other kids, not his own blood. He’s the reason I haven’t been able to have a relationship with Zendaya.”
Latonja was the only child born to Kazembe Coleman and his high-school sweetheart, Michelle Mackintosh. Zendaya’s scorned half-sister explained that nobody from that side of the family reached out to her when she was going through chemo.
Has Zendaya Responded to These Inflammatory Comments?
Latonja made some serious accusations against Zendaya –– we can all acknowledge that. One major question we have is why Latonja waited until this point to talk about the family feud? BTW, Zendaya clearly has no problem with the height difference between her and Tom, as they’ve put that to rest in the past.
Zendaya didn’t directly clap back at Latonja, but when she was busy promoting Spider-Man: No Way Home, their height difference came up. Tom called it “a stupid assumption” to think their height was an issue in their personal relationship. Zendaya doubled down with, “My mom is taller than my dad. My mom’s taller than everyone.”
Zendaya likely won’t respond directly to the outrageous accusations about her ignoring half-sister Latonja during cancer treatments. Perhaps she’ll address this family drama behind closed doors. Fans are def watching out to see if Zendaya will make Latonja a bigger part of her life despite Latonja shining such an aggressive spotlight on their estranged relationship.
It will also be intriguing to see how Zendaya’s father responds to the accusations made by his eldest daughter. If it’s true that he wasn’t present during her cancer treatments and attempted to distance her, it will surely reflect poorly on their family dynamics.
