Summer is my favorite time of year. There’s nothing like some sun to motivate you to reinvent yourself.
As excited as I am for the warmer months and longer days, I picked up some bad habits staying at home over the last year that I need to ditch. I was so concerned about other things I literally stopped caring about what I was putting into my body.
I want to focus on the positive changes I’m going to make and have my best summer yet.
Here are three habits I want to form in time for summer:
1. Eating more nutritious meals
Over the last year or so eating healthy has gone out the window. It’s all about convenience for me, I’ve never been one to prep and cook every night, but it’s gotten out of control.
When I realized I had frozen pizza for dinner 3 nights in a row, I knew I needed to make a change. I asked some friends for advice and one of them recommended Factor, a meal delivery service.
I wanted to move away from pre-prepared meals(most of them are packed full of preservatives), but when she told me all of Factor’s meals are designed and approved by their in-house staff of registered dietitians, I was assured that they would be nutritious and full of high-quality ingredients. Factor meals contain zero preservatives, hormones, antibiotics, gluten, refined sugars, or GMOs.
When I saw that the membership was flexible, I knew I had nothing to lose so I decided to sign up. The process was quick and easy, I started out with their eight-meal plan, but they have so many options spanning between 4 and 18 meals per week.
A few days later my Factor delivery arrived and I was not disappointed. First up I tried the Lentil and Sweet Potato Harvest Bowl, which was delicious and filling. All of Factor’s meals are globally inspired and designed by gourmet chefs, and even though everything is super healthy and nutritious, the recipes still pack a ton of flavor. They even have a ton of great add-ons like cold-pressed juices, granola, cinnamon walnut keto cheesecake and more.

2. Spend less money on takeout
The longer I was at home, the lazier I got when it came to meal times. Even oven-cooked meals were too much effort some days, so I ended up ordering a lot of takeouts. Obviously, this isn’t healthy, and it’s definitely not cheap.
But Factor’s meals are so tasty I’m starting to not even crave takeout at all. My favorite has to be their Taco Bowl, Grilled Chicken Philly or their Gingerbread Spice Pancakes. I have to remind myself that I’m eating something healthy when I’m enjoying my Factor meals, they’re as tasty as takeout if not better.
Factor’s gourmet chefs use fresh ingredients from their network of trusted partners to craft their recipes. They have meal options for the most popular diets, including keto, paleo, plant-based, high-protein, low-carb and gluten-free options, so there is something for everyone.
Factor‘s plans start at just $11.00 per meal, which is so much less than I was spending on takeout before. Plus, The menu is on a weekly rotation and always features over 20 chef-crafted recipes so I know I’ll never get bored.
3. Establish a better nighttime routine
Now that I don’t have to worry about what I’m eating or what I’m going to cook every evening, I’ve more time and headspace to establish a better sleep routine. Not to mention, eating healthy food has made a huge difference in how I feel throughout the day, allowing me to feel more energized.
I’m starting to spend more time reading and I’ve even started doing sleep meditation with an app on my phone. I used to struggle to concentrate when it came to reading at night sometimes, and I’m starting to think it was because of my poor diet.
I’m surprised at how much Factor has changed my routine overall. I never thought a meal delivery service would be this beneficial to my whole life, I feel so much better with Factor’s meals. I feel energized all day, and I don’t have to think twice about what I’m eating so I have more time to focus on other things.
If you’re looking for a convenient way to improve your diet, I highly recommend Factor.
