After a week and a half of working from home, I realized that my routine was screwed up.
I was waking up later than usual, not eating healthy enough, and being totally unproductive. It wasn’t until I called my younger cousin, and he told me all of the exciting changes he was making to his life that I finally decided to mobilize.
“Now is the time to start getting into some good habits,” he told me. I immediately began thinking about everything I wanted to change about my habits. Of course, everyone has quite a few things they want to work on.
I called my sister, and she advised me to only focus on two or three daily habits that I would vigorously work on. She gave me a few recommendations, and I was surprised to see how specific they were.
She told me that she’s been trying to drink more water and stay hydrated. We were both complete diet soda addicts, and I had my doubts she would be able to stick to her goal. Then she told me about Hint, fruit-infused flavored water. I wasn’t sure if Hint was as good for you as plain water, but she told me that it had no added sugars or sweeteners and felt great while drinking it.
Once I realized how effortless some of these changes were, I sat down and made a list of three good habits I want to adopt;
1. Getting exercise
Remember the gym? Oh boy, I sure do. To be honest, I tend to find working-out with people is so much more motivating. Working out by myself is finding the will to do twenty bicep curls and then call it a day. I quickly realized that I didn’t necessarily need to do full-workouts as I used to at the gym. Now, I’m setting a goal to go for a walk after work each day and going for a jog at least three times a week (all while social distancing).
2. Cleaning my apartment
One week into working from home, I thought, “Okay, I can do this. I can keep my apartment clean.” The next week I was cooped up in my apartment for a full 7-days, and by the end of the week, my apartment looked irreparable. After performing a deep clean, I decided that I would start cleaning my apartment every day, instead of whenever I felt like it. Having to be in a messy environment constantly was bothering me more than ever.
3. Drink more water
When my sister recommended this goal, I thought it would be the easiest to achieve, yet it was actually the most difficult. You have no idea how much I love soda and juice. I’m pretty sure I had my first bottle of soda when I was three and a half years old.
So, when I finally had the opportunity to add more water to my daily routine, I couldn’t help but struggle. Until my sister let me in on her secret: Hint water. Hint is known for its delicious fruit flavors, which are free from sugars and sweeteners. Drinking a Hint is the same as drinking a glass of plain water, except it tastes delicious.
Hintoffers an impressive selection of still flavored waters, such as Watermelon, Blackberry, Cherry, Peach, and Clementine (to name a few). Hint’s Fruit-Infused Water is also available via delivery every 14, 30, or 60 days with free shipping on three or more cases.
Now I’m drinking water each day and feel more clear-headed than ever before!
All it took was a little bit of research, and now I’m ready to welcome these habits into my daily routine!
