We Compared Noom To Fastic. Here’s What We Thought. 3333

Changing your health habits can be hard, but without a support system it can feel impossible.

Finding the right person, group, blog, or app can be crucial to actually sticking to healthy living.

There’s an app for everything these days, and our editors wanted to find the best app for promoting a healthy lifestyle. We narrowed the field down to two: Noom and Fastic.

Noom advertises itself as a “not your parents’ weight loss” type of program that focuses on behavioral changes through their AI-technology. Fastic is an intermittent fasting app that helps with your overall health and wellbeing as well as healthy, sustainable weight loss.

If you’re ready to make the steps toward a new you, keep reading to find out which app we recommend:

Key Similarities

  • Both are app-based weight management programs that focus on overall health
  • Both begin with a quiz and allow you to edit your recommendations based on your personal preferences (if you’re a vegetarian, etc.)
  • Both track your nutrition intake
  • Both offer trial and paid versions

Key Differences

  • Fastic focuses on intermittent fasting as a jumping off point to overall healthy changes, while Noom only focuses on behavioral changes
  • Noom offers foods to avoid, while Fastic does not
  • Noom does not offer a money-back guarantee

Noom Review

The Noom weight loss approach focuses on behavior modification techniques, tracking your calories and food intake, and a customized health plan.

You begin with a quiz to determine your recommendations (like if you have allergies or need physical modifications), but users have complained that no matter what you enter, you’re bound to find similar, if not identical, results.

The app also isn’t great at calorie-counting homemade foods, which in general tend to be healthier than takeout. If you’re inspired to cook more, you’re not going to get as accurate of an account than if you order in more.

The other downfall of the app is that in order for you to see those big changes, they might prescribe too few calories, so you’ll see the number change on the scale, but it won’t be sustainable.

They require a few minutes a day to give you a plan on exercises, foods to eat, and habits to break. After the one-week trial, it costs up to $59 per month.

Final Thoughts

Although both apps are focused on providing guidance for healthy behavior changes, we think Fastic is a better option. Their focus on intermittent fasting is heavily researched and science-backed, giving you a stronger beginning to your weight loss journey than Noom.

We’re also not impressed by Noom’s pricing options; for nearly $60 a month, we expected more, especially when it came to personalization. Overall, we’re just not sure that Noom is worth it.

Intermittent fasting is used around the globe and has proven results that extend way beyond weight loss. Learn more with Fastic today!
